About ITEA 2020

International Transportation Economics Association, ITEA: 

The purpose of the International Transportation Economics Association (ITEA): 

To promote the development and application of transport economics by:

  • Stimulating scientific excellence and policy-relevant research

  • Promoting advanced education in the field

  • Promoting interaction between research and transport related policymaking

     

    The main activities of ITEA are: 

  • Organize the Kuhmo Nectar Conference and the ITEA Summer School each year;

  • Organize other conferences, seminars or talks as a forum for academic exchange and professional development;

  • Responsible for conference journals (special issues) and books;

  • Issue research awards and teaching awards;

  • Disclose information to industry insiders through communications, email and other means;

  • Maintain website construction;

  • Establish and maintain contact with other organizations that are aligned with the goals.

     

    Introduction to the ITEA meeting: 

    The first meeting was held in 2005, including the Kuhmo Nectar Conference and the Summer School, which is held annually. The conference has become the main platform for the exchange of transport economists around the world, bringing together top scholars and young students in the field. The conference report papers include the world's most advanced research in transport economics. The ITEA Summer School, hosted by the world's leading transportation economists, provides high-quality transportation and urban economic frontier courses for doctoral students, practitioners and practitioners in related fields.

     

    ITEA Official Journal: 

    Since 2012, ITEA and Elsevier have published a journal, Economics of Transportation: Journal of the ITEA(SSCI Search). Economics of Transportation (ECOTRA) is a journal for scholarly papers in transportation economics. The founding co-editors are Mogens Fosgerau and Erik Verhoef. The journal aims to uphold the highest standards of scientific originality and quality.

SEM of Beijing Jiaotong University:

School of Economics and Management (SEM) of Beijing Jiaotong University is the birthplace of China’s modern management disciplines and has undergone a development for more than 100 years with the transportation economics as its oldest discipline. As the cradle of China’s Transportation Economics, SEM of BJTU has nurtured a national key discipline of industrial economics focusing on transportation economics, and has developed profound academic, industrial and social influences.
